Located on Museum Row in Garden City, New York, the Cradle of Aviation Museum is home to over 75 air and spacecraft spanning more than 100 years of aviation history. It is also home to Long Island’s only giant screen dome theater, the Catholic Health Sky Theater Planetarium.
Set in 1943, the premise of “Operation Mincemeat” revolves around the faking of a plane crash, charting the real-life World War II British deception operation of the same name. The musical blends elements of farce, thriller and caper to tell the story of a covert operation that turned the tide for the war.
“Operation Mincemeat” features a book, music and lyrics by David Cumming, Felix Hagan, Natasha Hodgson and Zoë Roberts, with direction by Robert Hastie and choreography by Jenny Arnold. The show began previews on Feb. 15 and opened on March 20 at the Golden Theatre. The musical was nominated for four 2025 Tony Awards, taking home a featured actor prize for Jak Malone.
“Operation Mincemeat” is produced by Avalon in association with SpitLip.
