The Broadway mounting of “Stranger Things: The First Shadow” will host a panel at New York Comic Con. Titled “Stranger Things: The First Shadow — Bringing Iconic Characters and the World of the Upside Down to Life on Stage” will take place on Oct. 9 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Javits Center in Manhattan.

The panel will feature current “Stranger Things” players Alex Breaux, Gabrielle Neveah, Burke Swanson and Louis McCartney, the latter of whom received a 2025 Tony Award nomination for his leading turn as Henry Creel. The quartet will discuss the journey of bringing the play’s characters, known from the Netflix series of the same name, from screen to stage, and how the play intertwines with the television series.

The panel is open to Comic Con attendees; additional information can be found here.

“Stranger Things”’ announcement marks the second Broadway show that will be represented at the 2025 Comic Con. As previously reported, the upcoming return engagement of “Beetlejuice” will host a panel on Oct. 10.

Written by Kate Trefry and based on an original story by the Duffer Brothers, Jack Thorne and Trefry, “Stranger Things: The First Shadow” chronicles the events that precede the happenings of the Netflix series. Set in the fictional town of Hawkins Indiana, the play follows newly arrived high school student Henry Creel, whose presence turns their world upside down. Directed by Stephen Daldry and co-directed by Justin Martin, the production opened on April 22 at the Marquis Theatre.

“Stranger Things” received five Tony nominations, winning three competitive trophies (for scenic, lighting and sound design). The production received an additional special award for its illusions and special effects. McCartney made history with his aforementioned Leading Actor in a Play nomination, becoming the youngest performer nominated in this specific category (tied with Peter Firth).

“Stranger Things: The First Shadow” is produced by Netflix and Sonia Friedman Productions.
