The Broadway musical “Hell’s Kitchen” has scheduled a special post-show performance in celebration of the holiday season. Three-time Grammy Award-winning performer Ne-Yo, who joined the cast of the musical in the role of Davis on Dec. 4, will emcee the performance, which will take place following the Dec. 18. show.
Ne-Yo will be joined by fellow cast members for the post-show performance — part of the musical’s “Encore Sessions,” which was previously led by the show’s songwriter, Alicia Keys. “Hell’s Kitchen” marks the Broadway debut of R&B/pop star Ne-Yo, who is known for songs like “Sexy Love,” “Closer,” “Because of You,” “Miss Independent” and “Mad.”
Directed by Michael Greif and choreographed by Camille A. Brown, with a book by Kristoffer Diaz and featuring a score of preexisting and original songs by Keys, “Hell’s Kitchen” tells the story of Ali, a rebellious New York City teenager; while trying to assert her independence from her mother, Jersey, and her father, Davis, Ali discovers her piano-playing talent.
In addition to Ne-Yo, “Hell’s Kitchen” currently stars Amanda Reid as Ali, Kelsee Kimmel as Jersey and Kecia Lewis in Tony Award-winning turn as Miss Liza Jane; as previously announced, Lewis will play her final performance as Dec. 13, after which alternate Yolanda Adams will take over the role full-time.
“Hell’s Kitchen” began previews on March 28, 2024, and opened on April 20 at the Shubert Theatre, where it continues to play.
“Hell’s Kitchen” is produced by AKW productions.
