The Tony Award-nominated Broadway musical “MJ” has scheduled an Asian tour and a U.K. tour. The Michael Jackson bio-musical will begin its Asian tour in October 2026 and its U.K. road production in 2027. Further details for both tours will be revealed in the coming months.

These tour announcements follow stagings of the musical on Broadway, in London’s West End, in Hamburg and Sydney and on a national tour across the United States. A previously announced Melbourne tour is set to begin this September.

With a Tony-nominated book by Lynn Nottage and set to more than 25 of Jackson’s hit songs, “MJ” chronicles his career leading up to his 1992 “Dangerous” tour. The musical features Tony-nominated direction and Tony-winning choreography by Christopher Wheeldon, with Tony-winning lighting design by Natasha Katz, Tony-winning sound design by Gareth Owen, Tony-nominated scenic/projection design by Derek McLane and Peter Nigrini, Tony-nominated costume design by Paul Tazewell and Tony-nominated orchestrations by David Holcenberg and Jason Michael Webb, who is also the production’s musical director.

“MJ” began previews on Broadway on Dec. 6, 2021 and officially opened on Feb. 1, 2022 at the Neil Simon Theatre, where it continues to play.

“MJ” is produced by Lia Vollack, John Branca and John McClain.
