On March 26, the Broadway musical “Buena Vista Social Club” is having a one-night “dance along” performance. Hosted by Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, the March 26 performance will invite the audience to dance along to the show from their seats.
“Audience members are free to give in to the rhythm — swaying their hips, shaking their shoulders, or just enjoying the energy of this shared celebration,” the production indicated in a statement.
With a Tony-nominated book by Marco Ramirez inspired by true events, “Buena Vista Social Club” tells the story of four Cuban musicians from the rise of Fidel Castro to the creation of their 1997 album “Buena Vista Social Club.” The musical was nominated for 11 Tonys in 2025 and won four, including one for Patricia Delgado and Justin Peck’s choreography. The musical also received a special Tony Award honoring the musicians who make up the show’s onstage band.
The musical’s cast recording received the 2026 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album.
“Buena Vista Social Club” is produced by Orin Wolf, John Styles, Barbara Broccoli, Atlantic Theater Company, Luis Miranda, LaChanze and John Leguizamo. Allan Williams is the show’s executive producer.
