Jonathan Groff will play his final performance as Bobby Darin in the Broadway musical “Just in Time” on March 29, 2026. Groff earned a 2025 Tony Award nomination as leading actor in a musical for his turn in the production. A replacement for Groff is still to be announced.
Groff is also a producer of the new musical, which began previews on March 31, 2025, and opened on April 26 at the Circle in the Square Theatre. The musical was developed and is directed by Alex Timbers.
Featuring a book by Warren Leight and Isaac Oliver, based on an original concept by Ted Chapin, “Just in Time” follows Darin’s journey to fame as the hit singer of songs like “Beyond the Sea,” “Splish Splash,” “Dream Lover” and “This Could Be the Start of Something Big/Just in Time,” all of which appear in the musical.
In addition to Groff, the current cast of “Just in Time” is led by Emily Bergl as Nina Cassotto and Mary Douvan, Sadie Dickerson as Sandra Dee, Sarah Hyland as Connie Francis and Michele Pawk as Polly Walden.
Atlantic Records’ “Just in Time” cast recording is currently nominated for the 2025 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.
“Just in Time” is lead-produced by Tom Kirdahy, Robert Ahrens and John Frost.
