New York-based luxury clothing retailer Lingua Franca has announced a partnership with “Hamilton” in honor of the Tony Award-winning musical’s 10th anniversary on the Main Stem.
Lingua Franca’s limited-edition collection includes cashmere crewneck sweaters that feature various sets of lyrics from “Hamilton”: “Young, Scrappy and Hungry,” “Rise Up,” “History Has Its Eyes on You,” “Love Doesn’t Discriminate” and “This Is Not a Moment, It’s a Movement.” The collection also includes cotton sweatshirts adorned with the “Hamilton” logo. The items are available in a variety of colors for both adults and children; online shoppers can choose a custom thread color for the text on the sweater.
The “Hamilton”-themed collection is available at Linga Franca’s online store and at the “Hamilton” store located at South Street Seaport in Manhattan. Ten percent of the proceeds from each purchase will benefit the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, a New York City archive that documents the political, social and economic history of the United States.
This clothing release is one of several recent partnerships that coincide with “Hamilton”’s decade-long tenure on the Rialto. H&H Bagels has launched a “Hamilton”-themed menu, while the New York Yankees will celebrate the anniversary at a baseball game on Aug. 25, which will feature performances and limited-edition merchandise.
Featuring a Tony Award-winning book and score by Lin-Manuel Miranda, “Hamilton” features Tony-winning direction by Thomas Kail. Inspired by Ron Chernow’s 2004 biography of the first secretary of the treasury, the musical chronicles the key players in the founding of the United States of America. “Hamilton” opened on Aug. 6, 2015 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre and received a record-breaking 16 Tony nominations, winning 11. The opening-night cast reunited for a 10th-anniversary performance at the 2025 Tony Awards ceremony. In January, the Broadway production musical surpassed $1 billion in aggregate gross revenue.
Founded in 2016 by Rachelle Hruska MacPherson, Lingua Franca offers sustainably sourced and hand-embroidered clothing. The brand believes in giving back and since its inception has raised over one million dollars for more than 200 charities.
With brick-and-mortar locations in Montauk, Long Island and Larkspur, California, Lingua Franca’s flagship store can be found on Jane Street in Manhattan.
“Hamilton” is produced by Jeffrey Seller, Sander Jacobs, Jill Furman and the Public Theater.
