A week ending in the biggest snowstorm New York City has seen in recent years saw performance cancellations and a drop in grosses, but also continued strength year over year.

For the week ending Jan. 25, overall grosses totaled $29,950,531, a fall of 13.7% compared to last week’s $34,695,615. Attendance dipped 8.7% as well, to 250,682 from last week’s 274,663. Capacity, however, fell only 2.5%, to 90.1% from 92.6%.

Ten shows canceled a total of 13 performances on Jan. 25 as a result of the snowstorm, including “& Juliet” (evening), “Aladdin” (matinee and evening), “All Out: Comedy About Ambition” (evening), “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” (evening), “Mamma Mia!” (evening), “MJ” (matinée), “Ragtime” (matinée), “Stranger Things: the First Shadow” (evening), “The Book of Mormon” (matinée and evening) and “The Lion King” (matinée and evening). It’s also worth noting, when comparing this past week to the week prior, that the week ending Jan. 18 also included a long weekend as a result of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

Still, for the week ending Jan. 25, four shows posted increases in their box office.
