Grosses analysis: ‘John Proctor’ and ‘Art’ breach $1 million amid standard post-Labor Day tumble

For the week ending Sept. 7, the 27 currently running productions grossed $25,137,042.

Broadway’s box office experienced its typical post-Labor Day Weekend softening during week 15 of the 2025-2026 season (the week ending Sept. 7). Gross for the 27 Main Stem offerings totaled $25,137,042, which represents a 17.9% dip from the week ending Aug. 31 (a week which encompassed Labor Day Weekend and one additional show). Attendance had a much smaller drop, with 215,095 admissions across all shows. Capacity dipped 8.6%, with 81.3% of available seats in theaters filled (this marks the lowest weekly capacity to date for the 2025-2026 season).
