Five new shows began previews in Week 44 of the 2025-2026 Broadway season, giving Broadway’s overall box office gross a bump even as other metrics fell. For the week ending March 29, the 36 productions currently running on Broadway grossed a total of $38,657,410, up 5.1% from the week prior. Also contributing to the increase are three shows that began previews in Week 43 (“Becky Shaw,” “Cats: The Jellicle Ball” and “The Fear of 13”), each of which played their first full week of previews in Week 44. Capacity decreased slightly, falling 3.2% from 96.5% in Week 43 to 93.3%.

Compared to Week 44 of the 2024-2025 season, Broadway is down overall. The overall Main Stem gross clocked in at $41,206,933 across 33 shows last season, with this past week seeing a 6.2% decrease, despite having 36 shows playing. Attendance is lower by 1.6% and capacity is lower by 2.7%.
