Grosses analysis: ‘Chess’ soars in first week on the boards

For the week ending Oct. 19, the 32 currently running productions grossed $38,189,430.

Broadway’s box office softened slightly during week 21 of the 2025-2026 season. Collective ducats for the 32 shows offered during the week ending Oct. 19 came to $38,189,430. This marks a 3.1% decrease from the week ending Oct. 12, which encompassed Indigenous People’s Day Weekend and a week in which one fewer production was running. Attendance remained consistent (up 0.4%) with 277,744 admissions totaled. Capacity dipped 3.1%, with 91.1% of all available seats in theaters filled.
