Following two consecutive weeks of softening box office returns, Labor Day Weekend proved a boon for Broadway. The 28 productions offered during the week ending Aug. 31 collectively grossed $30,631,166. This represents a 7% increase from the previous week, the week ending Aug. 24, when the same number of shows were running. Attendance, however, dipped a mere 1%, with 237,539 admissions tallied. Capacity had a scant increase (0.3%), with 89.9% of available seats filled.
