The Foundation for Stage Managers, a New York State-based charitable organization, has elected two new board members. Franklin Swann of New York City and Samantha Caughron of Las Vegas were named members of the board this summer.

Swann is a production manager, strategist and former stage manager whose career spans Broadway, national tours, live events and corporate roles. He began his career in stage management after college, working across theater and events before transitioning into production management. As a production manager, Swann has overseen a wide range of projects, including “Hamilton” and “Wicked.”

Caughron grew up outside Chicago and in Las Vegas. While in Vegas she landed a job with Spiegelworld for its first Broadway-adjacent show. That show led to a brief contract with Cirque du Soleil in Australia and then back to Spiegelworld for its first Australian tour. Caughron’s other credits include RuPaul’s Drag Race Live and Steve Wynn’s ShowStoppers.

Caughron and Swann join a group of current board members that includes Patreshettarlini “Pat” Adams, John Atherlay, Robert Bennett, Rich Costabile, J. Jason Daunter, Bill Hare, Nikki Hyde, Elynmarie Kazle, James Latus, Lori Lundquist, Judy Martel and Robert Sutherland-Cohen, as well as advisory board members Joseph R. Drummond, Andrew Feigin, Amy Pell, Arturo Porazzi and Patricia Sutherland-Cohen, plus emeritus board member Matt DiCarlo.

The Foundation for Stage Managers exists to invest in stage managers by providing access to training and resources. Through grants, education funds and fellowships, the organization invests in the ability of stage managers to learn, connect and thrive. For more information, click here.
