The theatrical licensing house Music Theatre International (MTI) has announced that “Finding Neverland” is now available for licensing.

The musical, which had its world premiere at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 2014, opened on Broadway on April 15, 2015. The musical features an original score by Gary Barlow and Eliot Kennedy and a book by James Graham. The Main Stem production, directed by Diane Paulus, closed August 21, 2016, after 565 performances.

Based on the Academy Award-winning motion picture of the same name, which is an adaptation of Allan Knee’s play “The Man Who Was Peter Pan,” “Finding Neverland” follows the relationship between playwright J.M. Barrie and the family that inspired his play and novel, “Peter Pan; or, the Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up.”

“We are so excited to invite schools and theaters everywhere to bring the heartwarming story behind ‘Peter Pan’ to life on their own stages,” said Drew Cohen, president and CEO of MTI. “‘Finding Neverland’ is a musical that lets audiences and performers experience a special kind of magic that allows their imaginations to soar.”

MTI’s recent rights acquisitions include the 2025 Tony winner for Best Musical, “Maybe Happy Ending.
