The Broadway musical “Suffs” is returning to its New York City roots for a one-night-only event at the Town Hall on May 4. In partnership with the Public Theater, the event will include an advance screening of PBS’ Great Performances airing of the musical prior to its national television premiere on May 8 at 9:00 p.m. on PBS.
The May 4 event will also include a moderated discussion featuring a panel of the show’s primary creative forces. Tony Award nominee Phillipa Soo, who appeared in the musical’s Off-Broadway staging, will lead a conversation with book writer, composer and lyricist Shaina Taub, Tony-nominated director Leigh Silverman and Tony-winning actor Nikki M. James. Following the panel, members of the original Broadway cast will reunite onstage for a live piano performance of the show’s anthem “Keep Marching.”
