The Tony Award-winning musical “Maybe Happy Ending” has announced final performance dates for leads Darren Criss and Helen J. Shen. Criss, who won a Tony for his performance as Oliver, will play his final performance on May 17, while Shen will depart prior, on Feb. 15.
Standby Hannah Kevitt will take over the role of Claire from Feb. 15 through April 2, followed by fellow standby Claire Kwon playing the role from April 3 through May 17.
Cast members Dez Duron and Marcus Choi will continue in the production, which currently runs through July 19 at the Belasco Theatre.
Featuring a Tony-winning book by Will Aronson and Hue Park and a Tony-winning score by Aronson (music) and Aronson and Park (lyrics), “Maybe Happy Ending” is set in late 21st century Seoul, as two obsolete helperbots, Oliver and Claire, discover each other. They develop a surprising connection that challenges what they believe is possible for themselves, relationships and love. The musical features Tony-winning direction by Michael Arden.
Replacements for the roles of Oliver and Claire after May 17 are still to be announced.
