The first Broadway revival of Yazmina Reza’s three-person comedy “Art” has recouped its investment. According to a representative for the production, “Art” was capitalized at $6.75 million. The production began previews on Aug. 28 and opened on Sept. 16 at the Music Box Theatre. The revival is slated to conclude its limited engagement on Dec. 21.

French playwright Reza’s 1998 Tony Award-winning play features a translation by Christopher Hampton and direction by Scott Ellis. The play centers on three longtime friends who find themselves at odds after one of them buys an expensive, completely white painting, setting off a debate about what constitutes art. The Main Stem revival is headlined by Bobby Cannavale as Marc, James Corden as Yvan and Neil Patrick Harris as Serge. Casting is by Jim Carnahan.

The production features scenic design by David Rockwell, costume design by Linda Cho, lighting design by Jen Schriever and sound design by Mikaal Sulaiman, with original music by Kid Harpoon.

“Art” is produced by Sand and Snow Entertainment (Michael Shulman), ATG Productions and Gavin Kalin Productions, with 101 Productions serving as executive producer and general manager.
