The upcoming musical “Wanted,” formerly known as “Gun & Powder,” has released a preview album of five songs, now available in digital and streaming formats. The album, titled “‘Wanted’: The Studio EP,” features numbers from the original score by composer Ross Baum and lyricist Angelica Chéri, sung by Liisi LaFontaine and Solea Pfeiffer.
The songs appearing on the EP are titled “Wide Open Plains,” “The Train,” “Gun & Powder,” “The Way I Am” and “Freedom.” The album is produced by Baum and features mixing by Tim Latham, mastering by Randy Merrill and recording engineering by Ian Kagey.
Set in 1893 Texas, “Wanted” tells the largely true story of Mary and Martha Clarke, African-American twin sisters who passed for white and were known to be notorious outlaws. Prior to the musical’s April 2024 run at New Jersey’s Paper Mill Playhouse, it played a world premiere with Virginia’s Signature Theatre in January 2020.
As previously announced, Stevie Walker-Webb will direct the Broadway premiere of “Wanted,” expected to begin in 2026 at a theater to be announced. Casting and further creative team members are also to be announced.
“Wanted” is being produced by Ben Holtzman, Sammy Lopez and Fiona Rudin of P3 Productions along with Robyn Coles and Evan Coles of Trate Productions.
