Longstanding industry casting directors Alaine Alldaffer and Lisa Donadio have joined forces in creating a new casting company, Alldaffer and Donadio Casting.
Alldaffer and Donadio are longtime collaborators, having served as casting directors for Off-Broadway’s Playwrights Horizons, which shut down its in-house casting office in 2024. This shift to a freelance model offered the duo the opportunity to launch their own casting office.
Alldaffer’s Playwrights Horizons casting résumé includes 2022 Best Musical Tony Award winner “A Strange Loop” and 2012 Best Play Tony winner “Clybourne Park,” as well as “Downstate” and “Circle Mirror Transformation.” Alldaffer’s work in casting includes 2024 Best Play Tony winner “Stereophonic,” which garnered an Artios Award.
Donadio’s New York casting credits include “Stereophonic,” “A Strange Loop,” “Prince Faggot,” “Downstate,” “Heroes of the Fourth Turning” and “The Thanksgiving Play.” Donadio has also cast productions for Classic Stage Company, Tent Theater, Hartford Stage, TheaterWorks Hartford, Huntington Theatre and the Old Globe.
Alldaffer and Donadio Casting will operate out of a recently renovated dental office in Manhattan. With the goal of making the in-person audition process more welcoming and comforting, the pair intends to make the space warm and inviting.
