# What we actually know about ‘Merrily We Roll Along’ being filmed

The Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of “Merrily We Roll Along” is being filmed for posterity, according to a production spokesperson.

Signs were recently posted outside the Hudson Theatre, home of the Stephen Sondheim-George Furth musical, indicating filming scheduled to occur on June 17 and 18.

There are currently no plans for a release or distribution. Broadway News will follow this developing story.

[Maria Friedman](https://www.broadwaynews.com/watch-maria-friedman-discuss-her-work-on-merrily-we-roll-along/) directs the production, which began previews on Sept. 19, 2023, and [opened](https://www.broadwaynews.com/the-broadway-review-a-revival-that-makes-sense-and-sizzle-out-of-merrily-we-roll-along/) on Oct. 10\. The [twice-extended](https://www.broadwaynews.com/merrily-we-roll-along-receives-additional-extension/) musical will continue for a limited run through July 7\. Featuring a score by Sondheim and a book by Furth, “Merrily” follows a trio of artists as they explore the complicated intersection of friendship and show business.

The production received seven [2024 Tony Award](https://www.broadwaynews.com/2024-tony-award-winners-are-announced/) nominations, winning four, including Best Musical Revival, Leading Actor in a Musical ([Jonathan Groff](https://www.broadwaynews.com/5-minutes-with-a-tony-nominee-merrily-we-roll-alongs-jonathan-groff-lindsay-mendez-and-daniel-radcliffe/)), Featured Actor in a Musical (Daniel Radcliffe) and Orchestrations (Jonathan Tunick).

Additionally, the revival released a [cast recording](https://www.broadwaynews.com/merrily-we-roll-along-releases-cast-album/) and [recouped](https://www.broadwaynews.com/merrily-we-roll-along-revival-recoups-investment/) its $12 million capitalization.
