On Sept. 9, company members of the 2024 Best Musical Tony Award winner “The Outsiders” appeared on Today to perform the production’s opening number, “Tulsa ‘67,” led by incoming leading player [Trevor Wayne](https://www.broadwaynews.com/trevor-wayne-to-lead-broadways-the-outsiders-as-ponyboy-curtis/) as Ponyboy Curtis. Sky Lakota-Lynch, who received a Tony nomination for his featured turn as Johnny Cade, explained how the cast visited Oklahoma (where the musical takes place) as part of their preparation.
