Tony Award Productions and CBS have announced a new agreement to extend the annual Tony Awards broadcast on the CBS Television Network through 2032, extending a partnership previously set to expire after the 2027 ceremony and corresponding broadcast. The Tony Awards have also announced a date for the 80th annual ceremony, which will take place on June 13, 2027.

CBS has carried the Tonys for the past 48 years, beginning with its first broadcast of the awards in 1978\. The 2027 Tony Awards will be broadcast live to both coasts on the CBS Television Network. The ceremony will be available for livestreaming on Paramount+ through the streamer’s Premium plan.

“We are thrilled to extend our long-standing partnership with CBS,” said American Theatre Wing president and CEO Heather Hitchens and Broadway League president Jason Laks in a joint statement. “For the past 48 years, we have collaborated with CBS to bring the best of Broadway to theater fans all around the world and we look forward to marking the 80th anniversary of the Tony Awards with our best show yet.”

“CBS has a celebrated history of supporting the creative arts on television and the Tony Awards are a cornerstone of that past, present and future,” said CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach. “George Cheeks and I are thrilled to extend the network’s 48-year partnership with the American Theatre Wing and the Broadway League and showcase the extraordinary talent, unforgettable performances and incomparable energy of Broadway to viewers across the country for years to come.” Cheeks is the co-chair and chief content officer of Skydance TV, part of Paramount Skydance, the company formed through the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global.

Additional information on the 2027 Tony Awards will be announced in the coming weeks.

The Tony Awards are presented by the Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing and produced by Tony Award Productions, a joint effort of the two organizations. Raj Kapoor, Sarah Levine Hall and Jack Sussman will return to produce the 2027 awards show. Kapoor and Levine Hall will also serve as co-showrunners, with Patrick Menton and Rob Paine serving as executive producers and Menton as head of talent.

Sponsors for the Tony Awards include City National Bank, Capital One, Mastercard, Carnegie Mellon University, Baccarat, Cunard, Delta Air Lines, Dewar’s, Rockefeller Center, Playbill and the Rainbow Room.
