# ‘The Music Man’ to offer $20 Broadway tickets to NYC school communities

“The Music Man” will offer 10,000 subsidized tickets at $20 each to New York City students, their families and teachers, producers Barry Diller, David Geffen and Kate Horton announced Wednesday.

The initiative, which was developed by Amy Marie Haven, the production’s Black Theatre Coalition fellow, is designed to increase access to Broadway and includes specific nights for teachers and up to four tickets for students throughout the run. Regular ticket prices for the Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster-led production range from $99 to $699, according to the musical’s Telecharge website.

The production opens at the Winter Garden Theatre on Thursday.

The subsidized tickets will be paired with curated community programming. The initiative is offered through partnership with the New York City Department of Education and several non-profits, including Artists Striving to End Poverty, Art Start, Arts For All, Arthur Miller Foundation, On Broadway Performing Arts Training Program, Young People’s Chorus of NYC, Education Through Music, Rosie’s Theatre Kids, R Evolucion Latina and Broadway Bridges.
