“The Lehman Trilogy” is headed to Broadway.

The play, chronicling close to two centuries of history about the Lehman family, will star original cast members Simon Russell Beale, Adam Godley and Ben Miles, with direction by Sam Mendes. It begins previews at the Nederlander Theatre on March 7, 2020, with an opening night of March 26.

Produced by the National Theatre, Neal Street Productions, and Scott Rudin/Barry Diller/David Geffen,“The Lehman Trilogy” is slated for a strictly limited 16-week engagement on Broadway.

The play originated in London, where it was commissioned by Neal Street Productions and developed and co-produced with the National Theatre. Following a London run in 2018, the play transferred to Park Avenue Armory last spring and then returned to London for a 16-week run on the West End which ended last month.

Written by Italian playwright Stefano Massini and adapted by Ben Power, the three-part play builds up to the bankruptcy filing of the large investment bank, Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., the collapse of which is thought to have led to the 2008 financial crisis.

The design team includes scenic designer Es Devlin, costume designer Katrina Lindsay, video designer Luke Halls, lighting designer Jon Clark and composer and sound design Nick Powell, with co-sound design by Dominic Bilkey.
