This is the first year of an annual residency program, which will host independent performing arts producers at Tofte Lake Center in Ely, Minnesota, beginning in 2027\. Producer Hub was initially founded in 2017 as a program of production company Octopus Theatricals, which is led by Broadway producer Mara Isaacs. The inaugural cohort of residency recipients includes Dria Brown, Remi Harris, Scarlett Kim, as well as Iris Rodrigo and Jennie Hughes of Forager Theatre Company and Jenny Glickman, AJ Bloomfield and Zoë Gilmore of the Lemonade Stand. [Learn more ](https://www.broadwaynews.com/welcome-offer) Brown is the founder of the Creative Doula Studio, which merges performance, public programming and cultural strategy to support artists and organizers and serve communities. She served as producing artistic director of the Broadway Advocacy Coalition (a Special Tony Award recipient). Her 2020 digital convening, Broadway for Black Lives Matter, reached more than 10,000 viewers and received a Webby Award. Harris is a program manager and co-producer at Pioneers Go East Collective and co-programs manager at the New York State Choreographers Initiative. She has also worked at HERE Arts Center, the Center for Performance Research and Brooklyn Studios for Dance. Kim works across live performance and immersive media. She currently serves as executive creative producer at the Center for Unclassifiable Technologies and Experiences. Previously, Kim was an interdisciplinary fellow at the Royal Shakespeare Company, a visiting artist at Stanford Arts and director of innovation and strategy at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Rodrigo is the co-founder and managing director of Forager Theatre Company, helming its marketing, branding and outreach efforts and serving as artistic producer for much of its programming. With experience as an actor and a degree in business, Rodrigo is also a brand partnerships coordinator for the Moth. Hughes is Forager’s founding director. A director, choreographer and educator, she has led productions at the PIT, the Tank, 59E59 and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Bloomfield is co-founder of the Philadelphia-based Lemonade Stand, a new works production company dedicated to platforming emerging artists. He is a designer, technician and producer. Glickman, another co-founder, is the company’s managing director. She also serves as the management assistant at Philadelphia’s Walnut Street Theatre. Gilmore is a freelance director, sound designer and stage manager and serves as the Lemonade Stand’s director of community engagement. Residents will participate in a largely unstructured, week-long residency aimed at aiding their ideation and community-making with other producers. Tofte Lake Center is a nonprofit organization located on a lake near Ely, Minnesota, adjacent to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. The retreat was initially set to take place in August 2026, but was delayed due to wildfires in the Boundary Waters area. "We are thrilled to be supporting independent arts producers through this inaugural residency,” said [Dani Barlow](https://www.broadwaynews.com/dani-barlow-named-programming-director-of-producer-hub/), Producer Hub’s programming director, in a statement. “We believe independent producers are vital to a thriving and diverse arts ecosystem, and we know the work can be intense and oftentimes lonely, so we are excited to provide a space for producers to rest, restore and be in community with each other. While the impacts of the wildfires in the Boundary Waters have delayed the execution of this residency to 2027, we wanted to lift up the recipients of this opportunity in the meantime and look forward to being together next year.” Producer Hub was founded in 2017 in an effort to provide resources, education and community to performing arts producers, artists and other arts workers. The organization [achieved nonprofit status](https://www.broadwaynews.com/exclusive-producer-hub-a-resource-for-independent-producers-achieves-nonprofit-status/) in 2024.
