# ‘Parade,’ ‘Good Night, Oscar’ have highest-grossing weeks as overall box office rises back above $30 million

With nine scheduled performances last week, “Parade” had its highest-grossing week yet. The Tony-winning revival earned $1,344,466, up 28%, and played to 100% capacity, up 4%.

“Good Night, Oscar” also had its highest-grossing week. The play grossed $808,246, up 28%, and played to 84% capacity, up 13%.

For the week ending July 16, the 30 productions running grossed $30,899,311, a 7% increase from the previous week. Capacity was at 88%, up 2%.

Notably, 24 productions posted gross increases this week, compared to the same number of productions that posted losses last week.

“The Lion King,” “Hamilton” and “Sweeney Todd” were the three highest-grossing productions.

Thirteen productions played to 95% capacity or greater, while five played to less than 70%.

“The Lion King,” which played nine performances last week, grossed $2,638,957, up 8%, in its highest-grossing week since April 16 when the production last played nine shows. Capacity maintained at 94%.

“Some Like It Hot” continues to fluctuate at the box office. The musical had a stronger week and grossed $894,152, up 12%, and played to 78%, up 7%.

“Once Upon a One More Time” has struggled in the weeks since its June 22 opening. Last week, the new musical played to just 56% capacity, the lowest of any running production. That marks the third consecutive week during which the show played to audiences of 60% or less.

“The Cottage,” “Back to the Future” and “Here Lies Love” remained in previews.
