# Opening-night dates announced for Roundabout Theatre Company’s 2024-2025 season

Roundabout Theatre Company has confirmed opening-night dates for its 2024-2025 Broadway productions. Roundabout’s [previously announced](https://www.broadwaynews.com/roundabouts-2024-2025-season-to-include-yellow-face-english-and-pirates-of-penzance/) crop of shows includes “Yellow Face” by David Henry Hwang, “English” by Sanaz Toossi and a revival of Gilbert & Sullivan’s “The Pirates of Penzance.” All productions will play the newly renamed [Todd Haimes Theatre](https://www.broadwaynews.com/the-american-airlines-theatre-has-officially-been-renamed-the-todd-haimes-theatre/).

“Yellow Face” will open on Oct. 1\. Leigh Silverman will direct the play, which is inspired by a real event surrounding the 1991 Broadway premiere of “Miss Saigon.” Daniel Dae Kim will star as “DHH,” who protests the use of yellow-face casting only to mistakenly cast a white actor in an Asian role.

“English,” winner of the [2023 Pulitzer Prize for Drama](https://www.broadwaynews.com/winner-of-2023-pulitzer-prize-for-drama-announced/), will open on Jan. 23, 2025\. Knud Adams will direct Toossi’s drama, which chronicles the students and teacher of an English-language classroom in Iran. 

“The Pirates of Penzance,” which features music by Arthur Sullivan and a libretto by W.S. Gilbert, will open on April 24, 2025\. The new adaptation by Rupert Holmes will set the musical in New Orleans. Scott Ellis will direct and Warren Carlyle will choreograph the production, which will star Ramin Karimloo and David Hyde Pierce. Orchestrations will be by Daryl Waters and Joseph Joubert, the latter of whom will also serve as music director.

Casting and additional members of each production’s creative team will be announced.

Roundabout Theatre Company is led by interim artistic director Ellis.
