The live capture of Cole Escola’s play “Oh, Mary!” is coming to television and streaming. As previously reported, the Tony Award-winning Best Play was recorded live on July 28 at the Trafalgar Theatre in London’s West End. Newly announced, the live capture will debut on HBO and be available to stream on HBO Max in 2027.

The film will star Escola, who won a Tony Award for originating the role of Mary Todd Lincoln, alongside fellow original Broadway cast members Bianca Leigh and Tony Macht. Original West End cast member [Giles Terera](https://www.broadwaynews.com/oh-mary-whirls-into-the-west-end/) and former Broadway cast member Michael Urie complete the company for the capture. Tony winner [Sam Pinkleton](https://www.broadwaynews.com/5-minutes-with-a-tony-nominee-oh-mary-s-sam-pinkleton/), who directed “Oh, Mary!” both on and Off-Broadway, also directed the live capture.

The live capture is executive-produced by Escola, Alex Bach and Daniel Powell for Irony Point, Carlee Briglia and Mike Lavoie for Mike & Carlee Productions, and Kevin McCollum and Lucas McMahon for Alchemation. McCollum and McMahon, Lavoie and Briglia also produce the play on Broadway.

“I’m so happy to share this show with a wider audience and spread ‘Oh, Mary!’ awareness,” said Escola in a statement. “Knowing about ‘Oh, Mary!’ is the first step in getting rid of it.”

“Some shows stay with you long after you’ve seen them. ‘Oh, Mary!’ is one of them,” added HBO’s executive vice president of programming, late night and specials Nina Rosenstein. “It’s 80 minutes of meticulously choreographed chaos … so wildly original that everyone who sees it immediately needs someone else to see it too.”
