# No major changes across Broadway box office in days before 2023 Tonys

Leading up to the [2023 Tony Awards](https://www.broadwaynews.com/updating-live-2023-tony-awards-winners-full-list/), Broadway’s box office slid slightly. For the week ending June 11, 2023, the 33 running productions grossed $30,961,479, a decrease of just 0.6%. 

Fourteen productions played to 95% capacity or greater, while six others played to 70% or less.

“The Lion King,” “Wicked” and “Sweeney Todd” were the three top-grossing productions.

“Leopoldstadt” had a better week. The eventual Tony winner for Best Play grossed $650,229, a 17% increase, and played to 63% capacity, up 14%.

“Some Like It Hot” grossed $1,040,449, up 13%, and played to 88% capacity, up 11%. The new musical earned four Tonys at Sunday’s ceremony.

“A Beautiful Noise,” which was not nominated, saw a 6% increase last week, grossing $930,736\. Capacity was up 10% to 75%.

In the final week of its Broadway run, “A Doll’s House” grossed $974,353, up 5%, and played to 100% capacity, up 4%.

Meanwhile, “Funny Girl” was without Lea Michele last week, who was away on a planned absence, which resulted in significant box office and attendance decreases. The revival grossed $528,049, a decrease of 61% from the previous week. Capacity was at just 58%, down 27%.

“Once Upon a One More Time” remained in previews. “A Doll’s House” closed on June 10.
