The new theatrical licensing and publishing house First and Foremost Books (F+F) has officially opened its doors, launching its catalog with two plays. Founded by Kyle Nesbit, F+F has announced that printed editions of Jesse Jae Hoon’s “Titans” and Jacob Perkins’ “The Dinosaurs” are now available for purchase and licensing by all professional and amateur theater companies in the United States and Canada. “Titans” is also available in a youth edition suitable for readers, performers and audiences of all ages.

Nesbit has worked in the theater industry for 20 years. He spent six years as assistant to lyricist and librettist Michael Korie. Nesbit went on to work for Broadway advertising teams at Serino Coyne and RPM before spending the past four years with licensor Broadway Licensing Global (BLG), which has since been acquired by Concord Theatricals, which, in turn, has been acquired by BMG. During Nesbit’s tenure, BLG acquired Dramatists Play Service (DPS), expanding its library and the titles Nesbit touched. Working in multiple departments, Nesbit finished his time with BLG in the publications department, where he led branding, creative direction and marketing for the plays represented by the organization. F+F plans to publish and license both old and new plays and musicals.

F+F plans to publish scripts during a show’s Broadway and Off-Broadway runs, a less common practice for theatrical licensors. “All shows, Broadway, Off-Broadway and beyond, are always looking to connect with audiences and get the word out in a culture that is full of distractions. The easiest way to get someone to fall in love with a show is to give them access to it,” Nesbit told Broadway News. “Just as cast albums are an entry point for audiences nationwide, a published script on sale during a show’s run and during the height of its cultural moment, will only extend the commercial life of the show and lay the groundwork for years of success in the licensing market.”

All plays published by F+F, including “Titans” and “The Dinosaurs,” will receive bespoke editions with different book sizes and fonts to suit each unique work. F+F’s printed plays will also include interviews with their authors, essays and reflections by playwrights and other theatermakers, as well as photographs from their original runs.

“Titans” is an inversion of the typical superhero film structure, following the residents of an ordinary American city as they band together to protect themselves and their neighbors from ICE raids. The play was commissioned by Clubbed Thumb as part of its 2026 Summerworks series and premiered at the Wild Project earlier this year. F+F’s edition of “Titans” includes an interview with the play’s author, Hoon, and Clubbed Thumb artistic director Maria Striar, essays by playwrights T. Adamson and Bailey Williams and production photos from the Clubbed Thumb mounting.

“The Dinosaurs” follows an all-woman support group whose regular meetings remain consistent even as decades go by and the world becomes unrecognizable. Perkins’ drama premiered Off-Broadway at Playwrights Horizons, where it ran earlier this year. F+F’s printing includes an interview with Perkins and Playwrights Horizons associate artistic director Natasha Sinha, an introduction by playwright Agnes Borinsky, essays by author Leslie Jamison, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Eboni Booth and director Lila Neugebauer and photos from the show’s Off-Broadway debut.

“First and Foremost Books believes that theater is special because it can be so many things,” said Nesbit in a statement. “It is a place to be entertained, but it is also a place to share stories that are meaningful and help us find our way to be better people. In that vein, F+F is proud that its first two plays are by American playwrights who are exploring what it means to be an American right now.”
