“My Name is Lucy Barton” will begin Broadway previews earlier than expected, the production announced Tuesday.

The solo play, starring Laura Linney, will now begin previews at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on Jan. 4, rather than the previously announced date of Jan. 6\. Opening night remains Jan. 15.

The play is produced on Broadway by the Manhattan Theatre Club and the London Theatre Company. Richard Eyre directs the play, which was adapted by Rona Munro from the novel by Elizabeth Strout.
