# Mirvish theaters move subscription season to January

David Mirvish will open his Toronto theaters in January 2021, the theater producer said Monday.

Mirvish is moving the subscription season from September out of concern for the health and safety of the cast, staff and crew members at his six theaters in Toronto. He notes that if theaters are able to open sooner, “Come From Away,” which has been playing for three years at the Royal Alexandra Theatre, will be able to quickly resume performances.

Additionally, he notes that the reopening of theaters is subject to the direction of public health authorities.

“If that should mean we won’t be able to open until later than January, we will delay longer,” Mirvish said. “We will not do anything that will jeopardize anyone’s health and safety.”

The new subscription season features the Canadian premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Love Never Dies,” the North American premiere of David Haig’s “Pressure,” the North American premiere of “& Juliet,” “Oklahoma!,” a new stage adaptation of “Murder on the Orient Express” and the new production of “Jesus Christ Superstar.”
