# Manhattan Theatre Club names Allison Curran as chief development officer

The New York-based nonprofit theater company Manhattan Theatre Club (MTC) has announced the appointment of Allison Curran as its new chief development officer. Curran, an experienced development professional, steps into her new position effective Aug. 24, succeeding Kate Nogueira.

Curran received an MA in arts administration from Columbia University, with a BA in English and theater and performance studies from Georgetown University. She began her career at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, where she helped to raise funds for multiple performance series, including Mostly Mozart, the Lincoln Center Festival and episodes of PBS’ televised “Great Performances” recorded at Lincoln Center venues. 

Later, Curran served as director of institutional giving and major gifts at New York’s Jewish Museum, where she headed a team of eight people in raising funds for general operation, exhibitions, outreach programs and special projects. Curran comes to MTC directly from Facing History and Ourselves, a nonprofit organization that provides professional development and curricular resources for educators worldwide.

“I could not be more thrilled to join the MTC team,” said Curran in a statement. “It’s an institution I have admired from the audience for many years, and I am so honored to be a part of this organization, under the brilliant leadership of Nicki Hunter and Chris Jennings.”

Incorporated in 1970, MTC is currently helmed by artistic director Hunter and executive director Jennings. Producing new plays and musicals across its Broadway and Off-Broadway venues, MTC’s slate for the [2026-2027 season](https://www.broadwaynews.com/manhattan-theatre-club-announces-school-girls-or-the-african-mean-girls-play-and-the-unbelievers-for-the-2026-2027-season/) includes productions of “School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play” and “The Unbelievers.” The company also recently embarked on a [partnership](https://www.broadwaynews.com/manhattan-theatre-club-creates-partnership-to-develop-two-new-musicals/) to develop two new musicals by the writing teams of Lindsey Ferrentino and Samuel Beam and Sofya Levitsky-Weitz and Benjamin Velez.
