AKA, a global entertainment, arts and culture marketing and advertising firm, has announced that Liz Furze will take over as global CEO, effective immediately. The company noted that Furze’s appointment marks the agency’s next phase, more strongly uniting the U.K. and U.S. businesses.

Furze was previously the organization’s CEO, North America. The company was founded in the U.K. Furze joined AKA in 2001 as a client account manager in the company’s London office. Furze rose through the ranks, eventually becoming international brand director before relocating to New York City in 2008\. She came to New York to launch AKA NYC, first as a consultancy, before [establishing the full-service agency in 2010](https://www.broadwaynews.com/broadway-advertising-agency-aka-celebrates-15th-anniversary/). She was the first team member and founding partner in New York.

Globally, the firm provides strategy, creative design, media, data, social media services and partnerships to its roster of clients in the live entertainment, arts and culture, attractions, destinations and theater sectors. Its Broadway clients include the 2026 Tony Award-winning Best Musical, “Schmigadoon!,” as well as “Stranger Things: The First Shadow,” “Buena Vista Social Club,” “Maybe Happy Ending,” “& Juliet,” “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” and “The Book of Mormon.”

Today, AKA has offices in New York, London and Manchester, U.K., with employees working across the U.S. as well. Furze will lead approximately 250 team members across all locations. With leadership already established in each market, further roles will be announced in the coming weeks.

“AKA has always been entrepreneurial at heart,” Furze said in a statement. “From my earliest days in London through to building the New York business, the instinct has been the same: stay close to our clients, keep questioning the expected, and never get too comfortable with the way things have always been done.”

“The opportunity now is to apply that mindset to what our clients need from us today,” she continued. “That means moving faster, connecting talent more effectively across markets, and creating more fluid ways for our creative, media and technology teams to work together. I want our leadership to stay close to the work and AKA to remain as nimble, responsive and entrepreneurial as it has always been.”
