The Thursday evening performance of “Lackawanna Blues,” which was meant to be the show’s new opening night, was cancelled due to a recurrence of lead Ruben Santiago-Hudson’s back injury.

The production had [previously cancelled](https://broadwaynews.com/2021/09/24/lackawanna-blues-on-broadway-cancels-weekend-performances-after-injury/?ref=broadwaynews.com) performances the weekend of Sept. 24 and [rescheduled the show’s](https://broadwaynews.com/2021/09/27/lackawanna-blues-delays-broadway-press-opening/?ref=broadwaynews.com) press opening to Oct. 7 from the [initial opening date](https://broadwaynews.com/2021/05/17/lackawanna-blues-will-begin-broadway-performances-sept-14/?ref=broadwaynews.com) of Sept. 28\. Santiago-Hudson stars in the solo show, which he wrote and directs.
