# Kristin Caskey elected new chair of the Broadway League

Kristin Caskey has been elected chair of the board of the Broadway League, the Broadway industry’s national trade association. Caskey was [announced as incoming chair](https://www.broadwaynews.com/kristin-caskey-elected-new-chair-of-broadway-league/) earlier this year, and was formally elected at the League’s annual membership meeting on Dec. 12\. Caskey succeeds outgoing chair Lauren Reid, president of the John Gore Organization (parent company of Broadway News).

Caskey, who will serve a three-year term, has won multiple Tony Awards for producing during her current tenure as executive vice president of content and creative for Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) North America, and her former tenure as president of Fox Theatricals. With ATG, she has won a Tony for the 2023 revival of “Parade,” and received a 2020 special Tony for the first Broadway mounting of “American Utopia.” She previously won Tonys for producing with Fox Theatricals for “The Humans,” “Fun Home” and “Red.” Caskey was noted as one of Variety’s New York Women of Impact list in 2022.

“Kristin’s extensive experience as a theater owner, presenter and five-time Tony Award-winning producer will certainly be an advantage when she takes on the role as chair of the board,” said Charlotte St. Martin, president of the Broadway League, in a statement. “She understands the intricacies involved with developing and producing shows.” 

“She is an active member of the League,” St. Martin continued, referring to Caskey’s time served on the League’s executive committee and board of governors, as well as her current posts as member of the League’s governance and Tony management committees. “We are excited to have Kristin serve as chair and continue to guide the important initiatives and excellent work of our immediate past chair Lauren Reid.”

Additionally, the League elected 17 new, two-year-term members to the board of governors: Mike Bosner, Rashad V. Chambers, Jeff Chelesvig, Jeff Daniel, Jeffrey Finn, Kara Gebhart, Mara Isaacs, Laura Kendall, LaChanze, Stephen Lewin, Jeff Loeb, Sammy Lopez, John O’Brien, Alecia Parker, Matthew Rego, Seth Sklar-Heyn and Allan Williams. Each new member will be eligible for re-election in 2025\. 

During the meeting, the League also announced the recipients of three honors. These awards acknowledge the efforts of League members and their dedication to producing and presenting live theater for Broadway and touring Broadway. Producer Sue Frost was recognized with the Member of the Year Award. ASU vice president for cultural affairs and executive director of ASU gammage Colleen Jennings-Roggensack received the Distinguished Service Award. Theater owner and producer Paul Libin was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
