# Julianne Hough and Utkarsh Ambudkar will host ‘The Tony Awards: Act One’

“The Tony Awards: Act One,” a telecast featuring the presentation of select Tony awards, will be hosted by Julianne Hough and Utkarsh Ambudkar. The special will air live on June 16 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. ET on Pluto TV for free. 

The [previously announced](https://www.broadwaynews.com/2024-tony-awards-sets-date-and-venue/) 77th annual Tony Awards ceremony, airing live from David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center on CBS and Paramount+, will immediately follow the program.

This announcement marks Hough’s [third](https://www.broadwaynews.com/broadway-alums-julianne-hough-and-skylar-astin-to-host-tony-awards-pre-show/) [consecutive](https://www.broadwaynews.com/darren-criss-and-julianne-hough-to-host-the-tony-awards-act-one/) assignment as co-host of the “Act One” pre-show. She made her Broadway debut in 2022’s [“POTUS.”](https://www.broadwaynews.com/review-potus-aims-for-fresh-satire-and-mostly-succeeds/) Hough won a 2015 Emmy Award for choreographing on “Dancing with the Stars.”

Ambudkar made his Broadway debut in 2019’s [“Freestyle Love Supreme,”](https://www.broadwaynews.com/review-freestyle-love-supreme-expertly-treads-the-tightrope-of-improv/) and also appeared in the production’s 2021 [return engagement](https://www.broadwaynews.com/freestyle-love-supreme-to-return-to-the-booth-theatre-on-broadway/). He currently stars in the CBS series “Ghosts.”

As [previously announced](https://www.broadwaynews.com/ariana-debose-to-return-as-host-for-the-2024-tony-awards/), the Tony Awards ceremony will be hosted by Ariana DeBose. The Tony Awards are presented by the Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.
