# Jake Gyllenhaal and Tom Sturridge to bring ‘Sea Wall/A Life’ to Broadway

Jake Gyllenhaal and Tom Sturridge will reprise their roles in “Sea Wall/A Life,” as the plays transfer to Broadway’s Hudson Theatre this summer.

The two plays, which are distinct, but included together in one production, come to the Hudson Theatre after a recent run at the Public Theater. Carrie Cracknell will return as director for the limited run of the show, which is set to begin preview performances on July 26 and open on Aug. 8\. The run is scheduled to end on Sept. 29.

Gyllenhaal’s production company, Nine Stories, will produce the run, alongside the Ambassador Theatre Group, Seaview Productions, Benjamin Lowy Productions and the Public Theater.

Sturridge performs “Sea Wall,” written by Simon Stephens, as a monologue, which is then followed by Gyllenhaal performing a monologue of “A Life,” by Nick Payne.

The play will feature scenic design by Laura Jellinek, costume design by Kaye Voyce, lighting design by Guy Hoare and original music by Stuart Earl.
