# Industry grosses, capacity fall as Broadway Week ends

Broadway capacity dropped 14 percentage points last week, coming down from [two weeks](https://broadwaynews.com/2022/02/23/broadway-grosses-hit-new-capacity-high-for-the-season/?ref=broadwaynews.com) of seasonal highs.

In the week ended March 6, capacity fell to 78%, compared to [last week’s ](https://broadwaynews.com/2022/03/01/broadway-capacity-reaches-92-in-new-high-for-the-season/?ref=broadwaynews.com)high of 92%. In turn, grosses across the 19 productions fell to $19.7 million, $3.2 million less than the previous week.

The downturn comes after the end of the Broadway Week promotion, which offered discounted tickets from Jan. 18 through Feb. 27, as well as the end of many school breaks.

The Broadway League has been publicly reporting grosses as industry totals, rather [than for individual](https://broadwaynews.com/2022/02/15/leaked-grosses-show-impact-of-omicron-on-broadway/?ref=broadwaynews.com) shows, meaning the numbers do not speak to [the financial health](https://broadwaynews.com/2022/01/31/grosses-show-big-wins-for-old-brands-tougher-economics-elsewhere/?ref=broadwaynews.com) of any one show.

There have been 19 productions running on Broadway for the past six weeks. Many more are scheduled to soon join the count, as the industry sees 16 productions open by the end of April.
