The Dec. 15 matinee of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” has been canceled due to the detection of breakthrough COVID-19 cases in the company, the production announced Wednesday.

“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” resumed performances at Broadway’s Lyric Theatre Nov. 12, now running as a single play instead of the two-part version that played before the pandemic shutdown. An official opening night for the play’s new format was held Dec. 7.
