# Grosses remain steady as Tony Awards approach

For the third consecutive week, “Shucked” hit a new box office high since its opening. The new musical comedy grossed $779,986, up 9.4%, and played to 98.51% capacity, an increase of 4.8%.

For the week ending May 21, the 34 productions running grossed $32,919,242, up 5.25% from the week prior. Capacity was at 88.48%, an increase of 4.19% from the previous week.

The three top-grossing productions were “The Lion King,” “Hamilton” and “Sweeney Todd.”

Fourteen shows played to 95% capacity or greater, while five played to less than 70%.

“Parade” was without star Ben Platt for two performances last week, due to a previously scheduled absence. Still, the revival grossed $1,012,450\. While this marked an 8% decrease, the show played to houses at 97.83% capacity, a 4.6% increase.

“Peter Pan Goes Wrong,” which announced a two-week extension, grossed $482,748\. The production has struggled in recent weeks since the departure of guest star Neil Patrick Harris.

“Grey House” remained in previews; the May 15 matinée was cancelled. “Once Upon a One More Time” also remained in previews.
