# Grey Henson will join the cast of Broadway’s ‘Shucked’

Final principal casting has been announced for the upcoming Broadway premiere of the new musical comedy “Shucked.” Previews are set to begin March 8 with an opening night scheduled for April 4 at the Nederlander Theatre.

Grey Henson will join the [previously announced](https://broadwaynews.com/2022/11/14/new-musical-shucked-to-open-on-broadway-in-spring-2023/?ref=broadwaynews.com) Ashley D. Kelley as the show’s two Storytellers. (Taylor Trensch played the role in the production’s three-week out-of-town run at Utah’s Pioneer Theatre Company.) Henson’s previous Broadway credits include “The Book of Mormon” and originating the role of Damian Hubbard in “Mean Girls,” for which he received a Tony Award nomination.

They join a company that includes John Behlmann, Kevin Cahoon, Andrew Durand, Caroline Innerbichler and Alex Newell.

Set in the South, the story follows a couple — and the characters they meet along the way — as they put their wedding on hold to save their small town.

The musical features a book by Robert Horn, a score by Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally and direction by Jack O’Brien.

“Shucked” is produced on Broadway by Mike Bosner, Jason Owen, AEG Presents / Jay Marciano / Gary Gersh, Richard Smith, Jeffrey A. Sine, Walter Schmidt, Bob Boyett, Jeremiah J.
