“Schmigadoon!” has announced an extension of its Broadway run. The musical, previously set to run through Jan. 3, has now added 13 more weeks of performances, extending through April 4\. This is the second extension for “Schmigadoon!,” which was initially set to run through Sept. 6 and [announced its first extension](https://www.broadwaynews.com/schmigadoon-extends-broadway-run-at-nederlander-theatre-through-january-2027/) in May.

“Schmigadoon!” is based on the Apple TV+ series of the same name. Two-time Tony Award nominee Alex Brightman and Sara Chase (who earned her first Tony nomination for this performance) lead the Broadway cast, playing a bickering couple who find themselves lost in the world of a Golden Age musical come to life.

Jennifer Simard is set to join the show in the role of Mildred Layton beginning tonight, Sept. 8\. She takes over for Ana Gasteyer, who received a Tony nomination for her role. Simard most recently appeared on Broadway alongside Megan Hilty in “Death Becomes Her,” for which Simard received her third Tony nomination.

Directed and choreographed by Tony winner Christopher Gattelli, “Schmigadoon!” officially opened at the Nederlander Theatre on April 20\. It was nominated for 12 Tonys and won four, including Best Musical.
