The 84th annual Drama League Awards will honor Idina Menzel, Casey Nicholaw and the National Endowment for the Arts.

The awards are set for the afternoon of May 18 at the Marriott Marquis Times Square. Nominations for the five competitive awards given out by the Drama League will be announced at 11 a.m. on April 18 at Sardi’s.

Menzel will receive the award for Distinguished Achievement in Musical Theater, Nicholaw will receive The Founders Award for Excellence in Directing and the NEA will receive the Unique Contribution to Theater Award, which chairman Jane Chu will accept.

The competitive categories are Outstanding Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical and Distinguished Performance. All of the awards can apply to a Broadway or off Broadway show.

Last year’s winners were “Oslo,” “Jitney” “Dear Evan Hansen,” “Hello, Dolly!” and Ben Platt.

The Drama League Awards first began in 1922 and were formalized in 1935, making them the oldest theatrical honors in the U.S., according to the press release.
