# First Broadway preview of ‘Doubt’ is canceled

Roundabout Theatre Company has canceled the first Broadway preview of “Doubt” due to a non-COVID-related illness. The [previously announced](https://www.broadwaynews.com/tyne-daly-and-liev-schrieber-to-star-in-revival-of-doubt/) revival of John Patrick Shanley’s Tony Award- and Pulitzer Prize-winning play was originally scheduled to begin on Feb. 2 at 8:00 p.m. Ticket holders can contact their point of purchase for further information. Previews will now begin on Feb. 3 at 8:00 p.m. at the [newly named](https://www.broadwaynews.com/the-american-airlines-theatre-has-officially-been-renamed-the-todd-haimes-theatre/) Todd Haimes Theatre.

Tony nominee Scott Ellis is directing the production, slated to open on Feb. 29 and play a limited run through April 14\. Set in the Bronx in the mid-1960s, “Doubt” follows Sister Aloysius, the principal of an all-boys Catholic school, as she reckons with the allegations of a priest, Father Flynn, carrying on harmful relations with a student. 

The cast includes Tony Award winners Tyne Daly and Liev Schreiber as Sister Aloysius and Father Flynn, respectively. [Rounding out the company](https://www.broadwaynews.com/quincy-tyler-bernstine-and-zoe-kazan-complete-the-cast-of-doubt-revival-dates-announced/) are Quincy Tyler Bernstine as Mrs. Muller and Zoe Kazan as Sister James.

“Doubt” is being produced by Roundabout Theatre Company, for which Ellis serves as interim artistic director.
