“We have the dream team to bring ‘Hair Live!’ vividly to life and create another unforgettable night of live television,” Robert Greenblatt, Chairman of NBC Entertainment, said in the press release. “I was at the electrifying opening night of Diane Paulus’ Tony-winning revival of ‘Hair’ 10 years ago and was blown away by how relevant and utterly joyous this show became in her hands.”

Paulus directed a concert version of the show in Central Park in 2007 and then stayed with the revival as it received a staged production at Delacorte Theater and then transferred to the Al Hirschfield Theatre in 2009\. It won the 2009 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical.

Rudzinski was also the live television director on the recent “Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert.”
