# ‘Diana, The Musical’ now available for licensing

Broadway Licensing has acquired the worldwide stage licensing rights to “Diana, The Musical.”

“Diana,” which features a book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro and music and lyrics by David Bryan, had its world-premiere at La Jolla Playhouse in 2019.

The musical began Broadway performances on March 2, 2020 and played nine previews before the March 12, 2020, Broadway shutdown. It officially opened at the Longacre Theatre on Nov. 17, 2021, and ran for 59 total performances before closing on Dec. 19, 2021.

“Diana” was also filmed during the pandemic and [released on Netflix](https://broadwaynews.com/2021/03/30/diana-musical-sets-date-for-broadway-return-netflix-premiere/?ref=broadwaynews.com) on Oct. 1, 2021.

“The music transforms the royals into rockers through every changing situation. From the innocent to the most complicated. It’s exciting to know that ‘Diana’ the musical will be rocking the world all around the world,” said Bryan in a statement.

“The fanbase of ‘Diana’ seems ever-growing, so I couldn’t be more delighted that Broadway Licensing is making the show’s performance rights available to theater companies, both large and small, all over the world,” DiPietro said in a statement.

Broadway Licensing 36 Tony Award- and 48 Pulitzer Prize-winning works within its catalog.
