“Carousel” and “SpongeBob SquarePants” topped the list of Drama Desk nominations Thursday.

The Drama Desk Awards honor shows and artists on Broadway, off Broadway and off off Broadway. The awards are voted on by theater critics, journalists, editors, publishers and broadcasters covering theater.

The nominating committee attended about 280 productions this season. “Mean Girls” and “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” were also at the top of the list with 10 and eight nominations respectively.

The nominees were announced by Jane Krakowski and Tituss Burgess Thursday morning. “The Band’s Visit” was not eligible this year, as it was nominated for and won several Drama Desk Awards last season.

This year’s awards show, hosted by Michael Urie, will take place at The Town Hall on June 3.
