# Broadway’s ‘Water for Elephants’ partners with various nonprofits for ‘Memory Maker Program’

“Water for Elephants” has announced a new ticketing initiative, dubbed the “Memory Maker Program,” which will offer subsidized tickets to students, underserved communities and senior citizens. 

Set to begin on Sept. 24, the initiative is a partnership with several nonprofit organizations, including, but not limited to, [Vet Tix](https://www.vettix.org/?ref=broadwaynews.com), [Broadway for All](https://www.broadwayforall.org/?ref=broadwaynews.com), [Lower East Side Girls Club](https://www.girlsclub.org/?ref=broadwaynews.com), [R. Evolución Latina](https://revolucionlatina.org/?ref=broadwaynews.com), [Actors Fund Home](https://actorsfundhome.org/?ref=broadwaynews.com), [Maestra Music](https://maestramusic.org/?ref=broadwaynews.com) and [New York Foundation for Senior Citizens](https://www.nyfsc.org/?ref=broadwaynews.com).

Adapted from Sara Gruen’s novel of the same name, “Water for Elephants” chronicles a soon-to-be veterinarian and the chosen family he finds among a Depression-era traveling circus. Featuring a Tony Award-nominated book by [Rick Elice](https://www.broadwaynews.com/rick-elice-reveals-the-guiding-emotion-of-water-for-elephants/) and a score by [PigPen Theatre Co.](https://www.broadwaynews.com/with-water-for-elephants-pigpen-theatre-co-reignites-imagination-on-broadway/), “Water for Elephants” opened on March 21 at the Imperial Theatre. The production received seven 2024 Tony Award nominations, including one for Best Musical and a nod for director [Jessica Stone](https://www.broadwaynews.com/5-minutes-with-a-tony-nominee-water-for-elephants-jessica-stone/). A [national tour](https://www.broadwaynews.com/water-for-elephants-musical-to-launch-national-tour-in-fall-2025/) will launch in 2025.
