# Broadway’s ‘Suffs’ will be filmed for PBS

The Broadway production of “Suffs” will be preserved on film. The musical, which features a Tony Award-winning book and [score](https://www.broadwaynews.com/shaina-taub-breaks-down-the-intricacies-in-her-suffs-score/) by Shaina Taub, will receive a live capture for PBS’ “Great Performances” series.

“Suffs” will be filmed at the Music Box Theatre during multiple performances from Dec. 20 to 22\. A premiere date for the filmed version of the musical will be announced.

The filming announcement comes ahead of the production’s [previously announced](https://www.broadwaynews.com/suffs-will-end-broadway-run/) Jan. 5, 2025 closing date. “Suffs,” which focuses on the triumphs, challenges and failures of the [women’s suffrage movement](https://www.broadwaynews.com/in-suffs-relationships-invigorate/), opened on April 18\. The [Leigh Silverman-directed](https://www.broadwaynews.com/5-minutes-with-a-tony-nominee-suffs-leigh-silverman/) production received six 2024 Tony Award nominations, including a nod for Best Musical. 

A national tour of “Suffs” will launch at Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre in September 2025\. The musical original [cast album](https://www.broadwaynews.com/broadways-suffs-to-receive-original-cast-album/) is currently nominated for a 2025 Grammy Award for [Best Musical Theater Album](https://www.broadwaynews.com/nominations-for-2025-best-musical-theater-album-grammy-awards-revealed-full-nominations-announced/).

“Suffs” is produced by [Jill Furman and Rachel Sussman](https://www.broadwaynews.com/5-minutes-with-a-tony-nominee-suffs-jill-furman-and-rachel-sussman/). [Hillary Rodham Clinton](https://www.broadwaynews.com/exclusive-hillary-rodham-clinton-appears-in-new-suffs-video/) and Malala Yousafzai serve as co-producers.
